At Acres of Ice, we are dedicated to creating innovative, sustainable solutions for communities affected by climate change in the Ladakh and Hindu Kush Himalayan regions. Inspired by local innovations like ice terraces and ice stupas—artificial structures devised to store water as ice throughout the winter—we have developed a data-backed, scalable model for constructing artificial ice reservoirs in high altitude villages. Our approach addresses water scarcity and empowers local communities to preserve their traditions and thrive in the face of climate challenges.

Mountain Partnerships of the United Nations

By 2030, the Mountain Partnership envisions a world with empowered mountain communities and increased public and private sector commitment and investment in sustainable mountain development to address the climate and biodiversity crises in mountains and to ensure the social and economic livelihood and well-being of mountain people, leaving no one behind, as well as the conservation and sustainable use of mountain ecosystems and resources, for the benefit of people and planet.

World Beat Center

The WorldBeat Center is a nonprofit multi-cultural arts organization that is dedicated to promoting, preserving, and celebrating the African Diaspora & Indigenous cultures of the world. Through consciousness raising, we strive to promote peace within our San Diego community by providing ongoing programs and services that nurture the spirit of children, the elderly, and everything in between.
